Open a Mini-Library in your village
One person, one rack, and a single book to begin with. That is the whole requirement. Tell us where you are and we will help you start.
What you need
- A place people already walk past — a shop front, a gate, a tuition centre, a reading room, a clinic waiting area.
- Something to keep books dry. A cupboard, a covered rack, a wooden crate turned on its side inside a doorway.
- A notebook, and a pen on a string.
- One book. Truly one — the rest will come.
What we do
- Give your Mini-Library a permanent address like 691001a1 and a page of its own.
- Send printable labels and a register sheet.
- Put you on the map so readers nearby can find you.
- Help you reach the people in your village who have books to give.
Your village will fill it.
This is the thing first-time Captains are most surprised by. Once there is a Mini-Library with a name on the board, neighbours start bringing books — the ones their children have outgrown, the novels they finished years ago, the exam guides nobody needs any more. You are not asked to supply a library. You are asked to start one, and to keep it tidy once it grows.
Tell us about it
No account needed. A person will get back to you.
We use this only to get back to you about opening a Mini-Library. It is not a mailing list and we do not pass it to anybody.
